In Nomine- Pyramid Scheme

Previously on In Nomine: the return of In Nomine

WHOA it’s been a while since we met! Here’s what happened last time on In Nomine:

It was an eventful night hanging around Lawrence, Indiana.

In the marches, Mel cut to the head of the line, much to the chagrin of other appointments and Blandine’s secretary, to explain the situation and ask for help. Blandine gave him her silver tokens to place on the routers and counteract them. Tokens in hand, the party set out to tag the routers they’d already encountered. Mel tagged the routers in Sherman, Texas and St. Joseph, Missouri without too much trouble, although he did have to borrow one of Marc’s tethers.
With a careful plan and some good rolls and only a little bit of mental trauma to an NPC, Jo managed to sneak in to the basement of the Plainfield, Indiana shop and tag the bottom of a third router. Unfortunately to do so, our kyriotate had to drop the demonic vessel it was currently possessing. No more prank calls to pizza hut or Vapula.

Morning came, and the party split up.

Mel and Father Barry have taken the flower van to the Indianapolis airport to catch a midday flight to Atlanta. Phos, Remiel, and Jo have borrowed the Fort Harrison Tether and are currently in Laurence’s cathedral in heaven. They plan to get to Atlanta by heading down another tether. Once in Atlanta everyone will hopefully reconvene.

Cue Benny Hill!

The party did what they could in town and then hit the road for west Indianapolis! Dominic dropped by the van to make sure Phos was doing an acceptable job in the field. Everyone spent the majority of their evening recuperating at a local tether to Laurence (a Chaplain school at a National Guard base). After unsuccessfully trying to get Laurence’s immediate attention, Phos and Remiel spent some time in the armory with tether worker, Timon, appreciating the fine arts of Knowing thine enemy and Stabbing thine enemy. Jo spent her (it? their?) time in the library brushing up on this and that. Mel chose to recline in a lovely batch of lilies. All good and well!

Midnight has come and gone.

The evening has passed peacefully where you all are, for the most part. No demonic armies showed up to fight you. The was some business with a green celestial woman in the basement, and a shadowed figure skulking around the tether grounds, and a moment when the DM forgot where the party’s van was located and tried to slash its tires but couldn’t, but nothing more.

We’ve left Jo to the books, Remiel is staked out at the edge of the woods awaiting something to smite, Phos is standing guard at the rear of the chaplain school, Mel’s body is hanging out in a landscaped garden with a scraggly cat, and Mel himself is waiting in the Menunim’s Chapel in hopes of speaking with the archangel Blandine ASAP.
It is roughly 3:30 in the morning.

Previously on In Nomine:

A tiny reliever in the form of a squirrel showed up to shield the basement temporarily while investigations could be conducted. A couple of field technicians of Lightning showed up (cue the Doctor Who theme) to poke and prod. When their initial tools proved ineffective, they shut their notebooks and brought in a specialist. Trevor, a more hands-on servitor of Lightning, managed to break the corporeal wires of the Relic for you. He was also more than happy to give the thing a good kick or two, and pointed out to the Seraph where an armory could be found.
When the corporeal wires were cut, some of you noticed ethereal wires connecting the Relic back to the outlets….

Jo took a trip to the Ethereal Realm (The Marches) in hopes of discovering its source on that Plane. That was a good idea but prooobbbaaabbbly not a very safe one, and so turned around when things started looking unpleasant and looked to Blandine’s elite servitors, the Menumin, for help in this matter.

You are all still in the basement, but you’re in the process of seeking assistance from a lot of important dudes and dudettes who know you’re dealing with some Bad Stuff™. Perhaps a solution can be made with their help before demonic reinforcements show up later this night.
